Teenage Obesity Is Becoming A National Crisis
Teenage obesity is rising significantly throughout the world. Teenage obesity is slowly gaining the dimension of an epidemic. At least 14-15% of the word population suffers from teenage obesity. Although teenage obesity is a big problem today, a cautious process can let you tackle the growing fat in your child.
Teenage obesity is responsible for the same physical hardships as suffered in adults. Obese young people are at greater risk for diseases such as heart disease, stroke, lung failure, kidney failure, hypertension, type 2 diabetes. The occurrence of overweight children between the ages of 12 and 19 has increased from 6% in 1974 to 17% in 2004. Teenage obesity is caused by many different reasons. Key among these reasons are a sedentary life style and the availability of a high calorie, high fat diet
Teenagers have a thing about not wanting to be concerned with issues that will haunt them in their adult years. Most would rather just live in the moment and figure out tomorrow when tomorrow arrives. Teenagers have various issues related to obesity. The most important for them is their physical appearance
One size does not fit all when it comes to weight loss, and the better we understand that, the more likely we are to be able to help our kids. Combining diet with exercise does not always accomplish the goal of weight loss. In fact recent studies have shown that people involved in rigorous exercise programs have a tendency to binge eat after exercising thus counteracting the calorie burning benefits of exercise.
Children should be introduced to a healthy lifestyle early on in their lives to promote a healthy adult lifestyle. They need lots of energy because they are growing. A varied and nutritious diet is essential for their development.
Teenagers tend to avoid breakfast, but a solid breakfast will help an overweight, or any teen to avoid eating too much the rest of the day. Eating smaller, more frequent, well balanced meals throughout the day will accomplish weight loss goals. Unfortunately, those individuals in need of obesity help do the opposite, eating larger meals only a couple of times a day when it is convenient.
