Choose The “Greener” Option
Overly-processed foods may be cheap, and easy to come by, but they come of no help to your quick weight loss goals. Stick to eating healthy, fresh foods and steer clear of preserved and processed foods. Try making special visits to the local Farmers Market, you’d be surprised how good true fresh produce really is!
Cut Down On The Butter, Honey
Although foods like funnel cake and fried chicken are delicious, they’re filled with a disgusting amount of fat and oil. Choose options like grilled over fried, and totally avoid deep-fried. Perhaps reduce the amount of butter you use in foods, or use a similar, healthier substitute. Though it’s not the “real thing”, it’s worth the sacrifice in the long run.
Keep Your Sweet Tooth In Check
Though that doughnut first thing in the morning may be tempting, or that late night candy bar, avoid foods like these at all costs. Though it’s impossible to avoid sugars of some kinds, just avoid what you can. Choose foods that are low in sugar, or sugar substitutes (these include Splenda, Equal, etc.).
Eat Fiber (And Lots of It!)
In addition to chowing down on fruits and veggies, don’t forgot foods that are high in fiber. Though foods like chicken and other meats are tempting (and can be filling as well), they shouldn’t be eaten in large amounts. Instead, fill up on whole wheat bread. Foods like these are high in fiber, which is a necessary component to any diet.
Downsize The Portions
Though it’s easy to become accustomed to large portions, keep in mind that portions weren’t meant to be as large as they’ve become. In fact, a normal portion of meat should only be about the size of your first. Though it may seem stingy at first, after a few weeks you’ll become accustomed to the change in portion size, and your stomach will actually shrink in size to tailor to your new dietary standards.
Drink It Up!
Though water weight can be annoying when gauging your results, it’s an extremely necessary part of your diet. Too little water can lead to headaches, bladder problems, and eventually dehydration, which can lead to death. Therefore, it’s important to drink 6-8 cups of water each day.
